Barely a month after the pregnant Kerala elephant died, a 12-year-old male elephant dies similarly in Tamil Nadu
A 12-year-old male elephant that was found on June 20 with mouth injuries was being treated by the Tamil Nadu forest department near Anaikatti, Coimbatore.
It died this morning at 5:30 am.
While forest department officials say the elephant injured its mouth while eating bamboo, locals say it may have consumed an explosive snare.
