Close to 70 families live in makeshift tents and houses put together with scrap wood in Broadway and Pookadai, Chennai.
These residents want better, safer, more hygienic surrounds. But having lived here for generations, they want the state to relocate them to a nearby area and not to far flung suburbs.
Will the state government take heed?
