A farmer from Gummidipoondi in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu arrived at Chennai's Institute of Mental Health with symptoms psychosis caused by alcohol withdrawals.

Since he was suffering from visual and auditory hallucinations, he was suicidal. He is now being treated with medication and counseling by psychiatrists at the Institute.

Severe alcoholism and withdrawals can lead to hallucinations and psychosis, which can be treated. If you know of anyone suffering from this, please get them help.
