“Wish He Would Come Back”: Family Of Deceased Squadron Leader
H Vinod Hariharan from Kerala was the breadwinner of his family. His elder brother Vivek, has been a pilot in the Indian Air Force since 2008.
Vinod Hariharan was last at home on June 01 before leaving for duty from vacation.
His late father Hariharan was an accountant in the defense sector for almost thirty five years.
“We were informed about the incident on the day it happened,” says Vijayan, a relative of Vinod Hariharan.
“We have been intimated that the body will be produced after identifying it. We still wish that he would come back. His mother Thangamani, is really worried and we don’t think we can be able to recuperate well,” Vijayan told The Lede.
27-year old Vinod Hariharan was married to Divya, hailing from Alangad in Palakkad. He was named as the best serviceman from the IAF for his excellent service in the rescue team during the Kerala floods.
Vinod Hariharan was killed in the AN-32 Indian Air Force flight crash near Siang in Arunachal Pradesh.
The AN-32 aircraft with 13 members on board went missing soon after taking off from Jorhat in Assam to Menchuka in Arunachal Pradesh on June 03.
However, after the aircraft lost control with the ground agencies and when it went off radar, a rescue team was deployed to the missing site suspecting a crash.
The IAF said that the process to identify the bodies of all 13 Air Force officers are being done with the help of their holdings and that they would produce the mortal remains of the warriors to their parents soon.
Vinod Hariharan joined service during in 2011. His friends and relatives have gathered at his residence in Singanallur, Coimbatore to mourn his passing.
